ABOUT US:
Sharing the passion
White Horse Aviation is a microlight Flying School operating out of Yatesbury airfield near Calne. Yatesbury is an old WW2 airfield that hosted mosquito's in the War but is now a much shorter 400 meter grass strip, ideally suited to Microlights.
We currently have four aircraft in our fleet, 3 x Comco Ikarus C42's which are ideally suited for pilot training and used by the majority of microlight flying schools in the UK, and of course, our beloved Sherwood Ranger Biplane which operates under the sub brand of Biplane-Rides.com

Our Chief flying instructor and school boss is Julian Midder. Julian has wide experience in various aircraft spanning two decades, including hot air balloons and gliders but he has over 5000 hours in microlights and is a highly experienced instructor.

If you are flying in our Bi-Plane, there's a good chance you will be flying with Patrick Tame. Patrick flew Paragliders and Paramotors for 10 years before switching to fixed wing microlights in 2017 and has a particular passion for open cockpit vintage aircraft.

The background photo was taken at Longleat at the 2023 Balloon festival where we were invited to display our aircraft, one of a very small number of aircraft over the years who have had the privilege of landing on the main drive.

We love flying and we love sharing our passion, no one ever forgets the first time they take the controls of a plane and it's a great priveledge to be able to share it with you.
